FoxClocks 2 is now available for download at addons.mozilla.org. Feature requests, bug reports and general gossip are very welcome in the comments, but if you’re having a problem, please check the FoxClocks FAQ and search the comments below for a solution before posting. Thanks!
Here’s what’s new in FoxClocks 2:
- Keep up-to-date: automatic time zone database updates
- Behind a firewall? update automatically from your LAN
- Choose the right time zone more easily: new Zone Picker
- Show your clocks in the statusbar/toolbar, just in a tooltip (mouseover), or both
- Style your clocks: bold, italic, etc
- Set your clocks to change colour: e.g. make your clocks green from 9 to 5 local time
- Sort your clocks by name or local time
- Move your FoxClocks settings between computers
Let us know what you think.

Fixed the problem, there seems to be a conflict with another extension
ImageHost Grabber
after disabling this addon Foxclocks is now visible in the status bar and in the tools menu.
Found solution by disabling all other extensions and then re-enabling one at a time.
Thank you Andy for a most useful Firefox addon.
Can you say this in English please – we’re not all developers you know!
Better still, simply say how to fix this annoying problem….its so bad I’m thinking about dumping Foxclocks!
“Why won’t FoxClocks remember my settings after I restart Firefox/Thunderbird?
This can mean Firefox/Thunderbird is crashing on exit or that there’s a ‘ghost’ Firefox/Thunderbird process after all windows are closed.
Under Windows, you can use the ‘Processes’ tab of the Task Manager to check whether there’s a ghost firefox.exe/thunderbird.exe process still running after you’ve shut down your application. If there is, you can use the ‘End process’ button to kill it. Other OSes have similar procedures to deal with ghost processes.”
For some unknown reasons, since some times, all new versions of Foxclock does not know that some country is called India (null is written instead), but the flag is correct… Why? And how to correct this?
Thanks
Foxclocks doesn’t display on my notebook.Using Windows 7 Starter. I can set up the time zones, but they don’t display anywhere. When I try to change the display settings and hit the Apply key, nothing happens…. I have uninstalled and re-installed FoxClocks and still no luck.
Is there going to be a FoxClocks version for Firefox 4?
I would like to know, why can’t I have L.A time and Salt Lake displayed on the window. It stays there, but when I close the Firefox and opens again, only L.A. is displayed.
FoxClocks 2.6.18 seems to have stopped auto-updating the time as of 2011 Jan 01. Time can is only updated on hover or on double-click on Firefox 3.6.13.
FoxClocks time is wrong by about three hours for me I have US Eastern as one zone and its 3 hours ahead so if its 8pm it says its 11pm. This problem effects all the zones I have when I go to update the database manually it shows the correct time but it still has the zone times wrong
Previously I have always had Fox Clocks in my Bookmarks bar which has been cleared of all other options, but now when I put it there it disappears just as soon as I close the “Customize” window. Afterwords the Fox Clocks icon no longer appears in the Customize menu and the clocks remain at the bottom of my screen. If I had wanted them (6 of them) at the bottom of the screen all would be well and good but I don’t. If you would please fix whatever bug is causing this it would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
Hi everyone,
I _have_ been replying privately to the various issues being posted here. In general, they’re similar to previous issues to which I have responded on this thread, so I haven’t bothered re-posting.
Happy New Year!
Andy
I LOVE FOX CLOCKS. I use and recommend to all my clients.
I have 4 main USA Time Zones displayed in my status bar.
If I had one wish, it would be for a Google Chrome version, maybe “CHROME-CLOCKS.” Chrome is a fast browser with tons of add-ons or extensions. But nobody has made a Fox Clocks, … yet
No matter how many times I add some countries, FoxClocks refuses to show them when I hover the icon. It will only show US-Pacific and the UK which is good and all, but I need it to show Finland and Japan too. I know they’re in the list as I keep adding and readding them, but it just won’t show. How can I fix this?
Is there any chance of a beta version that will work with FF4.0b?
Beta version of FoxClocks for Firefox 4 coming soon!
Andy
Dear foxclocks,
Fantastically helpful programme but I believe you have got Fiji’s time wrong at present. They are on daylight savings until March and are currently on the same timezone as New Zealand.

Thanks!
In the city settings Brisbane Australia does not have Daylight saving switched on as do the other areas using EST
Day Light Saving option is not there ?
I think it does but San Jose is not there…It says DST N/A Where do u track DST details ?
Hey guys, FoxClocks 2.6.18 still reporting not compatible with FF 4 beta 10. Any news? Is this known? In the queue to be fixed? I’m doing something wrong?
Thanks
Robert
I really miss FoxClocks when using FireFox 4.0 beta and am hoping you will revise FoxClocks so it’s compatible with FireFox 4. $4.00 is quite a reasonable request for your great addon which I will gladly pay when your release an update. I’m hoping other people will also chip in for your all your effort in developing such a great product.
A Firefox 4-compatible version is coming soon!
Andy
For some reason when I try to download FoxClocks 2.6.18 it keeps on saying that there is an error (22
. Any suggestions?
Hi,
I’m using the latest version with the latest Database and I think there is a problem:
for Sao Paulo (Brazil) the Location Properties are not updated! they are still configured for 2010… therefore since yesterday, end of the Daylight Saving, FoxClock didn’t show the correct SP time!
Is there any solution for this?
Regards,
M.
sorry, I just repeated the Database update and this time it worked! yesterday it didn’t!!
ok… good anyway.
thanks for the Addon, very nice one!
Ciao,
M.
Hello Andy
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101203 Firefox/3.6.13 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET4.0E)
The software doesn’t display more than two entries in the status bar. I have about 12 configured. They are also not shown in the popup if I configure it to be so. I have version 2.6.18 2011b
Thanks

In fact It is not accepting any configuration change that I do. I just changed the time format & it didn’t work.

The “Simple Clock” Addon is pure trash!!!
+1 for please update for FF4
+1 for link to beta broken
A great add-on! Keeps me aware of the time in New Zealand where most of my family live. Thanks.
I like Fox Clock. Where ever there is something happening around the world, I can know what day and time it is. Adds perspective. Thanks Fox Clock.
The toolbar button doesn’t get synced with the actual numbers of countries in its settings.
I’m fan of FoxClocks, using since long time.
When you are planning to release Firefox 4 (Beta) supported version?
Have found what seems to be a bug.
Using Firefox 4 with FoxClocks 2.7.82 (Windows 7 Ultimate x64).
Problem occurs when Firefox is closed and trying to open an HTML file (URL shortcut) directly from computer’s hard drive or desktop, hence the HTML/URL shortcut will launch default browser (Firefox in this case).
Error message: “There was a problem sending the command to the program.”
Attempting to make another browser the default (e.g Chrome) and then after this making Firefox the default again does not solve the problem. I have also tried resetting Windows 7′s default file/program associations, this too does not solve the problem.
I have run a clean install of Firefox 4 on 2 separate computers and on both FoxClocks is the only extension installed. When disabling FoxClocks the error does not occur.
Hope you can fix. This is a fantastic add-on.
I am a fan of foxclocks, I wish to add this link on my company website to spread usage of this addon.
It really helps me contact , communicate, schedule & fix meetings with customers in different time zone. its handy and gives reliable, quick times. We have customers spread across over 20 nations, I am able to set various time zones to help me know their times quickly.
thanks a lot to the developer.
